  Here are one or two scriptures I must have misinterpreted:

  (John 1:15) (John bore witness about him, (Jesus)
  

  (John 5:37) And the Father who sent me has himself borne witness about me.

  (John 8:18) ...bears witness about myself, and the Father..bears witness about me.”

  (John 15:26, 27) ....bear witness about me; and you, in turn, are to bear witness....

  (Acts 1:8) ..and you will be witnesses of me (not Jehovah) in Jerusalem,.....and to the most distant part of the earth.”

  (Acts 10:39) And we are witnesses of all the things he did.......
  

  (Acts 10:43) To him (Jesus) all the prophets bear witness.... (not Jehovah)

  (Acts 22:15) because you are to be a witness for him (Jesus, not Jehovah) to all men......
  

  (2 Timothy 1:8) ....the witness about our Lord.......(not Jehovah)
  

  (Revelation 1:9) ......bearing witness concerning Jesus. (not Jehovah)
  

  (Revelation 12:17) ....have the work of bearing witness concerning Jesus. (not Jehovah)

  (Revelation 17:6) ......and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus. (not Jehovah)

  (Revelation 19:10) ....witnessing concerning Jesus...the witness concerning Jesus...” (not Jehovah)

  (Revelation 20:4) ...for the witness they gave about Jesus...... (not Jehovah)

  …..the organization's hierarchy and clergy mandarins persist in teaching the lie about whose name JW's have to witness for.

  Compounding their false teaching, they pervert Paul's words at Hebrews 13:15 regarding the name which was to PUBLICLY DECLARED: “Through him let us always offer to God a sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of our lips that make public declaration to his name.”

  Here are just 6 examples of the WTBT's repeated deception -

  w14 9/15 p. 11 par. 20 Are You Convinced That You Have the Truth? Why? As dedicated Witnesses of Jehovah, we are convinced that we have the truth....

  w14 11/15 p. 15 par. 12 - “Our lips should make public declaration to Jehovah’s holy name.”

  w12 1/15 p. 23 par. 10 - “The public declaration of our hope....Paul called this essential Christian activity “a sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of lips which make public declaration to [God’s] name.” (WT's insertion & brackets)

  w11 3/15 p. 14 par. 9 - “...continue to rely heavily on Jehovah, who will grant you endurance as you “make public declaration to his name.”

  w05 7/15 p. 29 par. 14 - Why should we allow a month to pass without witnessing about Jehovah..?

  w03 5/1 pp. 28-29 - “a sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of lips which make public declaration to [God’s] name.” (WT's insertion & brackets)

  ….but this Watchtower article really hammers home the “slave's” dogma:

  If you are an active JW, take the time to compare what the org says with what all of the above scriptures really tell you, and then consider Paul's confirmatory words:

  (Hebrews 4:14) "Therefore, since we have a great HIGH PRIEST who has passed through the heavens, JESUS the Son of God, let us hold on to our public declaration of HIM."

  (Romans 10:9) For if you publicly declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and exercise faith in your heart that God raised him up from the dead, you will be saved.
  

  1st century Christians publicly declared the name of Jesus Christ – not “Jehovah.”

  607 date of Jerusalems destruction

  i am confused about the time scale regarding the year of the destruction of jerusalem.

  in the 1st october 2011 watchtower an argument is presented to back up 607 bc but there are so many conflicting arguments that this happened 20 years later according to secular sources.

  Jesus Christ is described as being in the manner of Melchizedek, (meaning - king of righteousness) namely, as a priest and king.
  

  However, according to JW teachings, when Jesus ascended to heaven he only received 50% of his Melchizedek status, because he had to wait for more than 1800 years (until 1914) before he qualified for the full title.

  (Hebrews 3:1) Consequently, holy brothers, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the apostle and high priest whom we acknowledge—Jesus.

  (Hebrews 4:14) Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God..

  (Hebrews 5:6) “You are a priest forever in the manner of Melchizedek.”

  7 times = 7 years

  7 years = 7 x 360 = 2520 years

  2520 years added to 607 = 1914 (no year zero)

  1914 = End of the Gentile times - Seemples.

  Except................our 365 day year seems to make a complete nonsense of it all.

  Not forgetting the Armageddon predictions of 1914, 1915, 1925, 1975, within the 20th century, and now - very soon, so near, just ahead, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

  “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times, shame on both of us.”

  Added: "Fool me all of my life, you've become my god."

  Another major historical JW lie!

  remember when we were younger we would read in their books or even see a drama on how jerusalem was surrounded by romans armies in 66 ce then one night they were just gone.

  jewish rebels even chased them killing many as they left.

  this i guessed fulfilled a prophecy in mathew and then the true followers of jesus would see this a know to flee to the mountains as the unfaithful stayed in jerusalem thinking all was well and the romans were gone for good until 4 years later they returned destroyed the city killing most of the inhabitants including unfaithful christians that didn’t heed the warning.

  Perhaps this will help clarify the historical record.

  The Roman forces retreated from JERUSALEM in 66 CE but then returned to JUDEA the following year in April 67 CE, destroying towns and people, before finally tackling Jerusalem in 70 CE.

  So Christians in JUDEA in 66 CE only had a few short months in which to get out of Judea. Those in Jerusalem would have risked their lives by delaying their escape in 66 CE..

  At an event I recently attended, I assured two committed JW's that the only "persecution" I ever received after being baptised, was from JW's - especially from the Elders in both of my congregations.

  The cult mentality & dictatorship was clear to see, but I couldn't see it at the time because I was so dedicated to "following the direction of the "slave."

  To all JW's - do you genuinely still believe that you are in a clean, theocratic organization - God's organization - or do you now realize that you are just a source of "sustenance" for a global corporate leech?

  The WTBTS gambled the org's resources on Wall St. - and lost big time! Waken up to the real truth.

  Wedding Rings.

  we have long queried why so-called things of pagan or religious origin like christmas or easter are banned by the wts but the use of wedding rings were not.. i was talking about this with a friend who follows a wiccan path of belief and he has sent me the following information from one of his magic magazines.. quote: .

  " why do we wear our wedding ring on our ‘ring finger’ ?

  thus, to properly activate the ring finger we need to wear a golden ring on it.

  January Named after the Roman god of beginnings and endings Janus. Latin Januarius (mensis).

  March This is the first month of the Roman year. It is named after the Roman god of war, Mars. Latin Martius (mensis).

  I firmly believe in the saying, "It takes a thief to catch a thief."

  The "awakened" should assist the "sleeping" by helping them to hear the alarm bell gently and gradually.

  It took years of repetition of dogmas for the org to perform their mind-changing agenda, so don't expect to find a magic bullet. Just ask viewpoint questions - as you were taught to do in the Ministry School - and wait for the hesitant and mumbled answers which will inevitably not be accompanied by scriptural backing!

  For example, "Why does your "faithful slave" teach that foreigners were not participants of the Law Covenant, when God Almighty said that they were?" (Deuteronomy 29:10-15)

  If someone just wants to vent and feel as if they've achieved a modicum of revenge by turning up at memorials, conventions, etc. just to cause a commotion, that's their choice. Ultimately, the onlookers will feel vindicated for shunning such "evil apostates" IMO.
